Why do we need your help?Adaptive therapy equipment and capability switch operated toys are a vital and necessary element in the proper development of children with physical and cognitive challenges. Yet due to high cost and lack of availability this adaptive equipment is frequently not available to those in need. What adaptive equipment does is help enable our children to strive for independence, promote physical strength, provide supportive means of proper positioning, improve self esteem and make it easier for peer interaction. Imagine if you will, trying to bathe a child safely who cannot support himself while sitting. A challenge? You bet, but one that can be met by supplying a bath chair that offers total body support.
Simple solution you think. Somewhat simple, if you have the $400.00 necessary to purchase that bath chair. Unfortunately for many, the reality is that they will have to bathe without the supportive reassuring aide and risk injury while completing the everyday task that most of us take for granted. That is why we are here and why we need your help. Through donations and grant awards, MatthewÕs Lending Library strives to provide our families with the adaptive therapy equipment necessary for their children's continued development, safety, enjoyment and everyday comfort.
